This is the incredible moment a huge container ship crashes into a dock after failing to weigh its anchor and takes out a chunk of the harbour. The ship can be seen approaching the dock in Mumbai, India, and men can be heard shouting as the vessel crashes into the dock. Although the collision left a hole in the side of the walkway, no one is believed to have been hurt in the accident and there was no major damage. In the short clip the container ship can be seen steadily approaching the dock but seems to drop its anchor too late. It keeps on moving closer to the dock and makes a loud crushing and banging noises as it hits the harbour. Three men can be seen watching the inevitable accident and shouting to each other in the moments after the smash. It is believed the accident happened on Saturday afternoon at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port in Nhava Sheva, reports the Times Of India.
Chetan Kakde, senior inspector of Nhava Sheva police, said the ship had been trying to make a turn when it hit a portion of the jetty. In pictures of the damage it appears that the metal barrier on the side of the dock was pushed out of shape and multiple wires have been pulled up.
